What’s up in Newport? It’s April! Spring is Springing and all the things are slowly coming back to life. Especially the daffodils! In keeping with the fresh energy of the season the one thing you absolutely cannot miss is all the events focusing on the daffodils in the city!

If you are new here: Newport’s Daffodil Days celebrates the arrival of over 1,200,000 bright yellow daffodils throughout the area, with decorated store windows heralding their arrival.  More information, and a locator map to the largest fields of daffodils, can be found on the Daffodil Days website.  There are more than a “Daffodillion” reasons to visit in April. Newport Daffodil Days Opening Ceremonies ? – April 6, 2024

Historic Clarke Cooke House on Bannister’s Wharf will be the scene for a dazzling daffy musket salute by the Artillery Company of Newport that signals the beginning of Newport’s Daffodil Days. Mayor Xay will crown our 2024 Daffodil Queen who will then cut the Daffodil Garland and proclaim the official start to this month’s festivities. See more

Annual Daffy Dog Paw-Rade – April 6, 2024

Gather up your beloved pooch and dress them in daffy yellow attire! It should be the cutest day. Find out more at the link!

Daffy Fun at Miantonomi Park ? – April 14, 2024

With the park’s over 38,000 daffodils blooming for the first time, you can celebrate their arrival with an afternoon of daffy, delirious, and delicious fun. Music, storytelling, food trucks and more.

Blithewold: Daffodil Days – April 13, 2024 – April 21, 2024

Each April, Blithewold opens its gates to welcome visitors just as springtime begins. The famous display covers the 33-acre seaside estate with over 50,000 daffodils that delight visitors for nearly a month. There are tons of activities for the family! Check out the Daffodil Doll Tea Party on the 13th!

Daffodil Bike Ride – April 20, 2024

Come join the annual Daffodil Ride in celebration of April’s Daffodil Days on April 20th! Decorate your bike, wear yellow and join other daffy riders for an easy 4-mile ride to view over 1,300,000 daffodils that will be in bloom throughout Newport, ending at Ballard Park where over 20,000 of the beautiful yellow flowers more greet you. Driving Miss Daffodil and Cars & Coffee – April 21, 2024

The Audrain Automobile Museum partners with Newport’s Daffodil Days to host the 10th Annual Audrain Automobile Museum’s “Driving Miss Daffodil.” This is your opportunity to cruise past thousands of the over 1,300,000 daffodils planted throughout Newport. Decorate your car with bright yellow daffiness, don your daffy best, and head down to Easton’s Beach for the start of a one-of-a-kind “Driving Miss Daffodil” car rally. Register your car now!

Newport Beer Festival – April 20, 2024

Sparkling Lights at The Breakers: An Outdoor Magical Wonderland

For the fourth year, the exterior of The Breakers and its landscape will be awash in thousands of festive colored lights illuminating the grounds’ paths and trees. The gardens will be decorated in different themes as holiday music fills the air. Walk through a dazzling 50-foot-long tunnel of light, see illuminated snowmen, reindeer and many more sparkling surprises.

Newport Illuminated Boat Parade – November 24, 2023

Spectators can view the dazzling display of nautical holiday spirit from many points on the Newport waterfront as the decorated vessels circumnavigate Newport Harbor.

Santa Magic at Long Wharf – November 25, 2023

Come join the shops at Long Wharf for their 3rd annual tree lighting. This is a free community event with Santa. Tree lighting, pictures with Santa, kids crafts, letters to Santa, music and much more.

Umbrella Sky Project – July 21. Umbrella Sky Newport, produced by ArtScape, will unveil its captivating display of over 500 colorful umbrellas magically suspended in the sky. You have to see it to believe it! All info!

Newport Classical Music Festival – July 4 – 23. This amazing multi day event will present more than 20 concerts and events in the outdoor spaces of some of the area’s most iconic venues, including The Breakers, Blithewold Mansion, and more!
